Woolworths, the leading retail company in Australia and New Zealand, recently partnered Singleton-based company, Pegasus, for the provision of contractor compliance services for all Woolworths Australian sites. Pegasus was selected over other national suppliers based on their ability provide an efficient and reliable pre-qualification service. This service registers and audits all contracting companies that are engaged by Woolworths and then inducts the contractor’s employees.
Since its modest beginning from a Singleton base twenty years ago, Pegasus has developed into a recognised market leader through a flexible yet sustainable philosophy and strong customer relationships. Best known for its services to the mining industry, the Pegasus diversification into other markets has been made possible through innovations like the Onsite Track Easy software system, a major ingredient in the Woolworths service.
Pegasus Managing Director, Steve Newman is excited by both the chance to work with retail icon, Woolworths, and also the other opportunities this partnership will develop. “Woolworths is one of the largest employers in Australia so the sheer magnitude of the services gives Pegasus great exposure to national contractors,” Newman said.“We understand the fantastic opportunity not only for Pegasus but also as a Hunter Valley company servicing an global brand”, Newman said.As part of the service, Pegasus will register and verify compliance against Woolworths’ vendor safety management process for more than 1,200 companies Australia-wide. They will then provide an online induction service to more than 25,000 contractors. Each of these contractors will be issued an Onsite Track Easy identification card for Woolworths site management.
Along with the identifiable Woolworths brand, the contractor compliance services also extends into other recognised Woolworths brands including Dick Smith, Safeway, BWS, Dan Murphy’s, Big W and Caltex.
